The event was organized by XDubai for the second time of the office of H.H. the Crown Prince of Dubai and participated in this event. Majed Ahmad Al Ali finished the race in 41:17 minutes and was the first one to finish the race. This year Spartan race added a 13km course with 30 obstacles for the more adventurous and a 1.8km race with 12 obstacles for juniors. The 5km race had 20 obstacles which disseminate sports culture among the community, being an essential element for fitness, joy and happiness as well as foster a spirit of harmony and cultural rapprochement among various segments of the UAE community.

Spartan Race is a series of obstacle races of varying distance and difficulty ranging from 3 miles to marathon distances. They are held in USA and franchised to 14 countries including Canada, many European countries, South Korea, and Australia. The series include the Spartan Sprint (3+ miles of obstacle racing, 20+ obstacles). and the Ultra Beast (26+ miles, 60+ obstacles - one of two marathon obstacle courses along with Mudderthon).
